The other Tuscany: unknown and pure magic

Come with me to my grandparent’s Tuscany

The Other Tuscany

Come with me to Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Cortona, Casentino Valley. It is not as busy as Western Tuscany, not as well known, but it is a Tuscany that you will love.

It is the real Tuscany, unspoiled by busloads of tourists and curious visitors.

An important center of Etruscan origin, then a rich thriving Roman area, and still today the world capital of gold craftsmanship as well as leather products.

Arezzo

Come with me to the other Tuscany

Arezzo, the home of many great men of history

The first musical notes were invented in Arezzo by a monk, the Archeological Museum is a treasure of Etruscan art, the Roman theatre is still practically intact, the early Renaissance churches are elegance itself among the Medieval setting of this town.

It is the home of many great men of history, Petrarch, Pietro Aretino, Mecenate, as well as great artists such as Piero della Francesca, who, what a coincidence, died on October the 12th 1492.

Walking through history

Live the slow life of hilltop towns rich in history and art. Savor and learn the art of Tuscan cooking.

This Tuscany is less commercialized, much less expensive and much more a real experience of Italy. This is where the most important antique fair of Italy takes place, every first weekend of the month. It is like walking through history itself – the food, the artisans, the party goes on for 3 days.

Come and lets mingle with the past.

The Saracen Joust is an ancient game of the chivalry age, it was born as an exercise for military training.
